Carie Tate: Cam, I want you to say, “Hey, can we go buy a house?”

Cam: Okay.

Carie Tate: Ready? Cam, what do you want to do today?

Cam: I ride a truck.

Chad Tate: That’s perfect.

Carie Tate: What do you want to do today?

Cam: I buy a house.

Chad Tate: Hey everybody. It’s Chad Tate here from Opening Doors Properties. We buy houses all over the Charlotte market. You know us. We’ve been all over town from the center city of Charlotte to the outskirts and right now we’re in Mount Holly, North Carolina, and we’re here to talk to you about this house right behind me. One of the reasons we’re so proud of it, it’s one of our first houses. One of the reasons we’re so proud of it is because how we took care of the family who was selling it to us. They were in a tough situation. They had inherited the house from their mom and they were about 10 years behind on taxes and they weren’t sure what to do with it. It had fire damage, all kinds of issues, and they needed us to buy their house and that’s what we did.

We were able to not just take care of the back taxes and renovate the home, but we actually had an open house just for them. We brought them in just to show them what we had done to transform the house into something that could be used for a new family, a new generation, and it was overwhelming for all of us, for them and for us.
